Welcome to an authentic farm stay experience! Our farm is nestled in the lush surroundings of Vestre Gausdal, just 25 km northwest of Lillehammer. You'll have easy access to popular attractions like Maihaugen, Hunderfossen, Lilleputthammer, and Jorekstad Bad. Skeikampen Ski Resort is also only a 30-minute drive away.
At our farm, you can stay in a cozy log cabin that exudes charm and authenticity. With thoughtful details and dedicated hosts, it provides the perfect setting for a countryside and nature retreat, whether you're traveling as a couple or with your family.
Wake up to breathtaking views of the beautiful Vestre Gausdal. During the summer, explore fantastic hiking and biking trails and immerse yourself in the stunning nature that surrounds us. In the winter, the landscape transforms into a snowy paradise with sledding hills and ski trails waiting for you.
Animal enthusiasts can participate in farm activities like tending to the cows in our older barn and feeding the hens in the garden. You'll get up close to our farm animals and experience the joys of rural life.
We offer complimentary use of snowshoes, sleds, and kicksleds. There are excellent sledding hills and hiking opportunities both on the farm and in the nearby area. We can also arrange activities such as dog sledding, sled rides with dogs, sleigh rides, and horseback riding, but these need to be booked in advance. These activities take place outside the farm.
Food is an essential part of our farm experience, and we offer the opportunity to order meals straight from the farm, delivered to your cabin! For a small additional fee, you can choose from our menu and have homemade bread, delicious berry preserves, fresh milk, and tasty eggs delivered to your doorstep.
Guest Access:
Planning a farm vacation in Gausdal without a car can be challenging, so we recommend either renting or borrowing a car if you plan to visit us. If a car isn't an option, the only solution is to take the train to Lillehammer and then either take a taxi from there (which will cost around 1200-1500 NOK) or use public transportation to Segalstad Bru, which takes about 30 minutes. From Segalstad Bru, it's still 8 km to Paulsrud Gård, but we can potentially pick you up from there for a small additional fee.
Within a 10-minute drive from our farm, you'll find various shops, including a pharmacy, four grocery stores, Europris, a sports store, two gas stations, a hair salon, a garden center, a wine monopoly, a clothing store, an optician, and a café. The nearest grocery store (Coop Prix Forset) is only a 3-4 minute drive away.
There is ample parking space available for your car, and during the summer, you can park right next to the cabin. In winter, the last 20 meters to the cabin can be steep and slippery for some, so having four-wheel drive during that period may be beneficial. There is also a convenient parking area on the farmyard, just 30 meters from the cabin.
Other things to note:
In addition to the cabin itself, you'll have access to the entire garden, the guest bathroom, and the laundry room. These facilities are located in an annex attached to the main house on the farm, just a few meters' walk from the cabin door.
The bathroom is spacious, warm, and well-equipped with clean towels, a changing table, and various soaps. It is shared with a small neighboring cabin that accommodates up to three people. The hosts ensure that the bathroom is kept tidy and clean several times a day to ensure a pleasant experience using the shared facilities. There is rarely a queue or long waiting time as everyone is considerate and leaves the bathroom in the same condition they found it.
Adjacent to the bathroom, you'll find the laundry room, a dedicated space for washing kitchen utensils during your stay, as well as drying wet clothes and shoes. The hosts can take care of washing the kitchen utensils on the day of departure if there are still items remaining to be washed.
During the summer and autumn, there are plenty of green and fresh vegetables near the cabin that you can complement your meals with from the vegetable garden. Feel free to pick various herbs and salads there. In the autumn, with prior arrangement with the hosts, you can also bring some carrots and potatoes with you. Larger quantities can be purchased and taken home upon departure.

Guests have the option to cancel their stay and receive a full refund* up to 5 days before check-in. The host will then not receive payment.
If the guests cancel after this time, the host will receive payment for each night the guests have actually stayed, in addition to one extra night. In addition, the host will also receive 50% of the price for each unused night that was included in the original booking.
